Monetary – Check, money order or cash is the simplest, most direct type of donation. These donations will be placed in the Endowment Fund and invested unless the donor places restrictions on the gift. Checks should be made payable to the Margaret E. Moul Foundation. The Foundation also accepts online donations with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
Memorials or Honorariums – In lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions in memory of or in honor of a loved one are a wonderful way to show your support. These gifts are placed in the Endowment Fund and invested unless otherwise directed by the family or their legal representative.
Bequests – Include the Foundation in your will or estate planning.* Contact the Foundation for more information.
Employer Matching Gift Program – Many employers have special programs to match an employee’s contribution to a qualified charitable organization. Ask your employer if they have such a program. If your employer requires special documentation, it is available upon request.
Charitable Gift Annuity – This is a contract between you and the Foundation. The Foundation agrees to pay you and/or another person a fixed amount for life in exchange for a gift of cash or appreciated securities valued at $10,000 or more. The Foundation uses the rates suggested by the American Council on Gift Annuities (ACGA).* Please contact the Foundation for more information.
Life Insurance – This is a simple way to make a significant gift to the Foundation and can be contributed in one of the following ways:
Charitable Remainder Trusts – These types of trusts are accepted by the Foundation. Please ask your attorney or financial advisor about details.*
Personal Property – In-kind gifts such as art, furniture, coin and stamp collections, jewelry, equipment, vehicles, and any other tangible personal property items are accepted. The Foundation may suggest obtaining a bona fide appraisal or other documentation of fair market value prior to accepting the donation. Publicly Traded Securities – Stocks, mutual funds, municipal and corporate bonds, and treasury bills and notes will be accepted by the Foundation. Such gifts will be sold immediately unless it is determined by the Board of Directors to retain them for a longer period of time. Donors will receive a tax deduction for the appreciated market value of the securities and not just their cost basis.
Real Estate – Gifts of real estate are accepted by the Foundation. Please contact us for more information.
There are many benefits to your charitable contributions to the Foundation. Your contributions give you a personal connection to one of York County’s most established nonprofit organizations and may be tax deductible.* Whatever the contribution, you and the Margaret E. Moul Foundation will share the rewards.
If you have questions regarding ways to donate, please contact the Margaret E. Moul Foundation at 717-767-6463.
